Welcome to Egypt! You'll be picked up from Cairo International Airport and driven to our hand-picked accommodation. Meet your fellow travelers over an Egyptian Welcome Dinner and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

Meals: Dinner

The Great Pyramid of Giza, Tomb in Egypt

We've got a big day ahead of us. After enjoying breakfast, we'll head to the Giza pyramid complex to explore one of the ancient wonders of the world! Take your time pondering how these incredible monuments were built! We'll pay a visit to the Great Sphinx as well. Once we finish here, we're going to the new Grand Egyptian Museum which houses, among a vast number of objects, Tutankhamun's grave goods.

Afterward, we’ll board a felucca (an Egyptian sailboat) for dinner and watch the magical sunset over the Nile!

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Activities Included: Giza Pyramids & Great Sphinx Entrance, Grand Egyptian Museum, Sunset felucca ride

Optional: Tickets to go inside the Menkaure and Khufu pyramids.

As incredible as Ancient Egyptian monuments are, Egypt has well over a millennium of Islamic history, which is equally monumental and fascinating. We're visiting arguably the most beautiful mosque in Egypt: the Mosque of Muhammad Ali inside the Saladin Citadel. Nearby is the Sultan Al Nasir Muhammad Mosque as well. Once finished, we're going to the underrated Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hassan where you can truly feel the history and spirituality of Islam in Egypt.

Afterward, we'll visit Al-Azhar Mosque before we begin strolling around the labyrinth of Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, known as one of Cairo's greatest and most colorful markets. Here, you'll spot minarets towering over the tight alleys as people flow past.

You'll have free time afterwards to explore more of Cairo.

Meals: Breakfast

Activities Included: Saladin Cathedral & Sultan Al Nasir Muhammad Mosque, Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hassan, Al-Azhar Mosque, Khan el-Khalili Bazaar tour.

Today we'll be exploring the first pyramids ever constructed! Because these pyramids are not "the" pyramids (of Giza), we'll enjoy much smaller crowds. We'll start with the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the first ever monumental stone structure built by man. You can climb down into an enormous shaft and see the sarcophagus still in place. Then we'll head to the Serapeum of Saqqara where multi-ton stone sarcophagi containing the Apis bulls were buried.

Afterward, we'll go visit the Red Pyramid, which is the first true pyramid ever constructed. Then finally to the mysterious Bent Pyramid. Together, we'll learn about the trial and error era of pyramid building.

You’ll then be brought to Memphis, Ancient Egypt’s first capital. Here, you can wander around the amazing open-air museum. Highlights include the colossal limestone statue of Pharaoh Ramesses II, the Alabaster Sphinx, and a wide array of statues and artifacts. We'll return to Cairo afterward.

Meals: Breakfast

Activities Included: Saqqara Plateau Entrance, Serapeum of Saqqara, Red & Bent Pyramid entrance, Memphis Open-air museum visit.

Today you'll be picked up for a two-day excursion in the White and Black Deserts!

Driving from Cairo, we'll reach Bahariya Oasis, where we'll enjoy lunch before setting off into the landscape. Up first is the Black Desert, which is made up of basalt from ancient volcanic eruptions, giving the sand a striking, scorched appearance. Then we'll have some notable stops, including Crystal Mountain, and you'll even get a chance to try some sandboarding!

We'll find a quiet spot in the White Desert to set up camp as the sun sets. You'll enjoy a traditional Egyptian BBQ for dinner and then stargaze until it's time for bed.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Activities Included: White & Black Desert 4x4 Adventure, Sandboarding

We'll have a slow and meditative morning. After breakfast, we'll tour the incredible monuments of the White Desert and take some funny group pictures before returning to the oasis for lunch.

Then, it's back to Cairo to catch our overnight train to Aswan!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Activities Included: White & Black Desert 4x4 Adventure

After the hustle and bustle of Cairo, Aswan will feel like a breath of fresh air with its relaxing and laid-back atmosphere.

We're heading to the incredible Philae Temple, which sits on an island in the Nile. Among the monumental architecture, you can find the last known Egyptian hieroglyphs ever recorded—a final whisper of an ancient world.

Later on, to capture this calmer feeling, we're hopping on a felucca and peacefully floating down the Nile during sunset to reach the Nubian village—home to an indigenous community with deep roots in southern Egypt and northern Sudan. They have a distinctive language, customs, and a rich cultural heritage. There, we'll attend a Nubian dinner party!

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Activities Included: Philae Temple, Felucca ride, Nubian Dinner & Party

Optional: Unfinished Obelisk, Nubian Museum

Today we're visiting the iconic site of Abu Simbel!

Prepare for a 'wow' moment: Abu Simbel is unlike anything else in the Nile Valley. Four giant statues of Ramesses the Great stand watch over the desert, leading you into a temple built for a god-king, while the elegant Temple of Nefertari sits just steps away, honoring the Great Royal Wife in spectacular detail.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Activities Included: Abu Simbel

We're going to Luxor—otherwise known as Thebes in ancient times. For thousands of years, this city was the center of Egyptian religion, and there's no better place to experience this history than Karnak Temple. As the largest religious site in the ancient world, it does not hold back in its grandeur, boasting forests of towering columns that once supported a massive roof.

After our visit, we'll see the smaller but equally incredible Luxor Temple, where Alexander the Great can be seen depicted as a pharaoh in the hieroglyphs.

Meals: Breakfast

Activities Included: Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple

Time to get ready for an epic day—we're heading to the Valley of the Kings! Here, you can explore where some of the most famous pharaohs in history were entombed. After the age of the pyramids, pharaohs spent an enormous amount of resources constructing these elaborate underground tombs, where the vivid colors and intricate hieroglyphs remain startlingly preserved.

From there, we'll visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, famous for its grand-staircase design. Afterward, we'll stop by the Colossi of Memnon—the towering remains of what was once the largest temple in the world.

Later on, we'll have our final group dinner!

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Activities Included: Valley of the Kings entrance ticket which includes visits to three royal tombs (King Tutankhamun's and Seti I's tomb are not included), Queen Hatshepsut's Mortuary Temple, Colossi of Memnon.

Optional: Sunrise hot air balloon ride, Tomb of King Tutankhamun, Tomb of Seti I.

Today, we begin our journey back to Cairo, but one very significant and unique temple awaits us along the way: Dendera Temple. It is renowned for its vibrant, intact ceiling paintings and massive columns carved with the face of Hathor, the goddess of joy and love. There are secret passages hidden in the walls that you can explore, and unlike every other temple thus far, the roof is fully accessible. From the rooftop, you can see where ancient priests once held ceremonies, and inside, you'll discover the best place in Egypt to discuss ancient astronomy while viewing the famous Dendera Zodiac.

After taking in the views from the top, we'll finish our drive back to Cairo.

Meals: Breakfast

Activities Included: Dendera Temple

After breakfast, we'll drop you off at Cairo International Airport for your flight home. We hope you enjoyed your time with us!

Meals: Breakfast

Activities Included: Airport transfer

What Makes Egypt So Special?

Egypt is a world defined by its dual identity as both an African and Mediterranean powerhouse. Anchored by the Nile, the country features a geography of dramatic extremes, from the vast, silent dunes of the Sahara to the vibrant coral ecosystems of the Red Sea. Its position at the bridge between continents has fostered a culture that is uniquely Egyptian, blending ancient traditions with a rhythmic, modern energy that permeates everything from its bustling street markets to its quiet, palm-fringed oases.

This depth is rooted in a history that spans several distinct eras. Egypt was the seat of one of humanity's earliest and most sophisticated civilizations, leaving behind a legacy of monumental engineering and art. Over the centuries, it became a central hub for early Coptic Christianity and later a centerpiece of the Islamic Golden Age, resulting in a landscape where ancient temples, Roman fortresses, and ornate medieval mosques coexist. In the 20th century, a layer of Belle Époque architecture and mid-century modernism added further texture to the cityscapes of Cairo and Alexandria.

Today, Egypt exists as a sophisticated fusion of East and West. You will find grand, European-style boulevards and Mediterranean cafes alongside traditional souks and mud-brick villages. This isn’t a simple mix of influences; rather, Egypt has absorbed millennia of external contact to create a singular, resilient identity. It is a place where the weight of the past serves as a backdrop to a culture that is intensely alive, welcoming, and entirely its own.

Cuisine

Egyptian cuisine is a celebration of the earth, where crispy koshary brings together a hearty medley of grains and spiced tomato sauce, and golden ta’ameya offers a fresh, herbaceous take on the classic fava bean fritter. Forget your standard definitions of street food—Egypt has transformed simple, sun-drenched ingredients into a soulful art form that has sustained the Nile Valley for millennia.

Weather

Egypt’s climate is predominantly arid, characterized by two distinct seasons: a hot, dry summer and a mild, sunny winter. While the northern coast experiences a Mediterranean influence with more temperate conditions and occasional winter rain, the interior remains consistently dry. Temperatures vary significantly between the sun-drenched days and cooler nights typical of the desert. This stable, dry environment prevails throughout the year, making the country a reliable destination for those seeking clear skies and minimal rainfall.

Language

Ever encountered a script that feels like a gateway to history? Welcome to Arabic, written in a graceful, flowing script that is as much an art form as it is a language. In Egypt, you will hear the distinct Egyptian dialect, the most widely understood version of Arabic across the Middle East. While this local tongue is the heartbeat of daily life, don't be surprised to find English and French widely used in urban centers and among the younger generation, serving as a practical bridge for international communication.

What Inspired This Itinerary?

We love Egypt. When designing this itinerary, we wanted to make sure you not only had the most fun with your fellow travelers, but that you got to visit places most tours don't take the time to. You'll experience a wide breadth of what there is to in Egypt, ensuring that if this is your one trip to the country, you'll return home more than satisfied. There are so many hidden gems and surprises waiting for you.
